Pumpkin Patches Near Chino Hills, CA
Frosty's Forest in Chino is the nearest big pumpkin patch to Chino Hills, about ten minutes down Ramona Avenue, with a 4-acre corn maze and parking included in a $15 weekend ticket. If you want to pick a pumpkin off the vine rather than off a pallet, go a little farther to Cal Poly Pomona PumpkinFest, where agriculture students grow them on the university's Kellogg Ranch.
Chino Hills sits where four counties meet, so these nine patches run from Rancho Cucamonga to Orange, and they sort less by distance than by the kind of afternoon they offer. Five cost $5 or less to walk into and earn their money on ride tickets and pumpkins. Three charge $15 to $22 at the gate for a corn maze, a working farm or a day in a regional park. La Verne's historic orange grove sits apart from both groups: quiet, tractor-pulled, and not yet priced for 2026.

A pumpkin field or a pumpkin lot
Only Cal Poly Pomona grows its pumpkins where you buy them. Both Seasonal Adventures lots, in Eastvale and Rancho Cucamonga, truck theirs in and lay them out on the pavement, and Mr. Jack O' Lanterns in Brea is a pre-picked patch on a paved lot. What a lot gives up in scenery it makes back at the gate: Mr. Jack's is free to enter, and its selection still spans jack-be-littles to fifty-pounders.
Frosty's Forest is in between, a lot with a real 4-acre corn maze cut into standing corn behind it. La Verne Heritage Foundation sets out a field of pumpkins under the trees at a historic park built around a working orange grove, with tractor rides and farm animals instead of carnival rides.
What the admission price leaves out
The Adult Admission column is the top weekend rate, and none of the nine includes a pumpkin. Frosty's $15 is its late-October weekend price, with early weekends at $10, Mondays free and Tuesday through Thursday $5. Irvine Park Railroad's $22 is the top of a $16 to $22 range, and from late September its weekends need a timed reservation bought online per person. Cal Poly Pomona is $22 at the gate or $18 online, capacity is capped and it sells out.
Parking is the other cost. It is free at five patches and included at Frosty's, but Cal Poly Pomona charges separately and Irvine Regional Park takes a per-vehicle fee at the gate. The Pumpkin Factory in Corona is free to enter Wednesday and Thursday and $5 Friday through Sunday, though it takes only chip cards or Apple Pay.
After-school evenings or October weekends
Several of the cheap lots are built for the hours after work. The Seasonal Adventures lot in Eastvale opens at 4pm on weekdays and the Rancho Cucamonga one runs 4pm to 9pm Monday through Thursday, The Pumpkin Patch in Placentia opens at 4pm midweek and closes Mondays and Tuesdays, and The Pumpkin Factory waits until 5pm midweek and also closes Mondays and Tuesdays. Cal Poly Pomona goes the other way: Saturdays and Sundays only, October 10 to 31.
For 2026, Irvine Park Railroad opens September 12 and Frosty's on September 25. The Seasonal Adventures lots follow on October 1, Mr. Jack O' Lanterns and The Pumpkin Factory on October 2, and Placentia on October 7. Mr. Jack's stays open through November 1, a day longer than every patch that posts a closing date.

Frosty's Forest Pumpkin Patch
The closest big pumpkin patch to Chino Hills, about ten minutes down Ramona Avenue, and the one that feels most like a county fair. A 4-acre themed corn maze is cut into standing corn behind the patch, and the lot around it fills with carnival rides, a Ferris wheel, pony rides, a sunflower labyrinth and a long path of photo-op sets. It is the priciest of the close-in options on an October weekend and it gets loud and busy after dark; Mondays are free and Tuesday through Thursday is $5, which is how locals usually do it. Separately ticketed on top of admission is The Haunted Harvest, a scare attraction aimed at older kids and adults.
Seasonal Adventures Pumpkin Patch - Eastvale
Known to most people around here as Stu Miller's, this is the lit-up lot on Limonite by the Eastvale Gateway centre, run by Seasonal Adventures, which has been putting up pumpkin patches and Christmas tree lots in California since 1994. Entry is a few dollars for adults and free for anyone under 18, so a family can walk in, buy pumpkins and leave without paying much at all; the rides, slides and obstacle courses run on ride tickets bought separately. It opens at 4pm on weekdays, which makes it an after-school or after-work stop rather than a daytime outing, and it is at its best after sunset when the string lights come on. There is no corn maze here, and no field to pick from: the pumpkins are trucked in and laid out on the lot.
Seasonal Adventures Pumpkin Patch - Rancho Cucamonga
The same operator and the same formula as the Eastvale lot, set up on Foothill Boulevard with the entrance on Mayten Avenue, a bit further from Chino Hills but an easier run if you are already up near Victoria Gardens. Expect the same low walk-in price, the same ride-ticket model, and the same evening-heavy hours: 4pm to 9pm Monday through Thursday, later on the weekend. Between the two, pick whichever is on your side of the 60 or the 15; there is no real difference in what is on offer.
Cal Poly Pomona PumpkinFest
The one on this list that is an actual farm rather than a lot: Cal Poly Pomona's Kellogg Ranch grows the pumpkins on site and students from the Huntley College of Agriculture run the festival, now in its thirties. You walk out into a real field on Pumpkin Hill to pick, and the ticket also covers corn mazes, a sunflower maze, a petting farm, a hay wagon ride and a cow train. It is the most expensive gate on this list and it only runs on October weekends, capacity is capped and it regularly sells out, so buy online rather than turning up; parking is a separate charge. If you want the classic pick-it-from-the-vine outing without driving to Redlands or Oak Glen, this is the closest place to Chino Hills that offers it.
La Verne Heritage Foundation Pumpkin Patch
The quiet, old-fashioned one. Heritage Park is a small historic site in the La Verne hills built around one of the last working orange groves in the San Gabriel Valley, with the 1880s Weber House and farm outbuildings still standing, and the foundation has run a pumpkin patch here for over thirty years. It is tractor rides, farm animals and a field of pumpkins under the trees rather than carnival rides, and it has been a Friday-to-Sunday, weekends-only affair with a classic car show on one October Saturday. Note that when this page was written the foundation had not yet posted its 2026 pumpkin patch dates or prices, so call ahead before driving over.
Mr. Jack O' Lanterns Pumpkin Patch - Brea
A tented pumpkin lot on State College near the 57, run by a family business that has been doing patches around Los Angeles and San Diego since 2010. Admission and parking are both free at every location, which makes it the cheapest way to get a photo and a pumpkin with small children: you only pay for the pumpkins and for whatever games and bounce houses you use, either by the ticket or with a day pass. Do not expect a corn maze or a field, this is a pre-picked patch on a paved lot, but the selection runs from jack-be-littles to fifty-pounders and it stays open into the first day of November.
The Pumpkin Patch (Placentia)
Billed as Southern California's oldest pumpkin patch, running since 1976 and reaching its fiftieth year in 2026. The entrance fee is a token two dollars for adults and nothing for children, and what you get for it is an unusually hands-on patch: pens of chicks, ducklings, piglets, lambs, bunnies and goats you can pet and feed, kid-driven John Deere tractors, inflatables, human hamster balls, gold panning and a gemstone dig. It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and opens at 4pm midweek, so plan for a weekend if you want the full run of it. Note the address is Placentia rather than Yorba Linda proper, on Yorba Linda Boulevard just west of the city line.
The Pumpkin Factory - Corona
A ride-and-game patch just off the 15 at Magnolia, easy to reach from Chino Hills down the 71. The draw is that admission is free Wednesday and Thursday and only five dollars Friday through Sunday, with free parking, so the cost of a visit is really the wristbands and ride tickets you choose to buy. Inside there are inflatable slides, mechanical kiddie rides, carnival games, face painting, a petting zoo and a snack bar. It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and does not open until 5pm midweek. Worth knowing before you go: they only take chip cards or Apple Pay, no outside food or drink, and no dogs.
Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch
The furthest of these from Chino Hills, roughly half an hour down the 91 and 55, and the one with the longest season: it opens in mid-September, weeks before anything closer. The patch sits behind the train station inside Irvine Regional Park, so the day is really the park plus the patch, with the little railroad, a hay maze, a gentle haunted house, gold panning, cookie decorating and carnival games. The catch is the pricing: weekdays you can walk in, but from late September the weekends need a timed reservation bought online per person, activities are separate tickets on top, and the county charges a parking fee per vehicle at the gate. Go on a weekday if you can.
How we researched this
We drew the circle at roughly half an hour's drive from Chino Hills, about 5 to 27 miles, which crosses San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange counties. That kept out bigger farms that are really day trips: Live Oak Canyon in Redlands, Tanaka Farms in Irvine, Riley's and Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen, and the Temecula patches. Two close farms dropped out after research because they have closed: Amy's Farm in Ontario posts a closure notice, and Venegas Family Farms says it is closed indefinitely. Frosty's Forest also runs a Yorba Linda site, but it sells only Christmas trees there.
La Verne Heritage Foundation's price and dates are empty because its events page was still showing the 2025 patch in early September 2026, and older price figures are not this season's. No page we found says how its parking works either. Cal Poly Pomona's price comes from its ticketing checkout, since the university site prints no number. Pumpkin patches set new dates, ticket rules and weekend rates every fall, so check the operator's page for the week you plan to go.
