Beyond price, these 13 cribs trade weight against how far you have to bend. The four travel cribs weigh 12 to 15 pounds where the listing says, and pack into a bag, but the ones that state it put the mattress on the floor. The five wooden cribs weigh 32 to 46.4 pounds and let you raise the mattress, which spares you at bedtime and costs you on the stairs. The fabric playards, at 20 to 39.1 pounds, sit mostly in between.

Floor level or waist height at 2am
Guava says the Lotus is light partly because its mattress rests on the floor, and the Newton Baby Compact's mattress lies on the floor too. Laying a sleeping newborn in either means bending all the way down, though both have a zip door in one side, so a crawler can go in and out without being lifted over a rail.
Every playard here has a raised bassinet instead. The Graco Day2Dream weighs nearly twice the On the Go (39.1 pounds against 21.2) and comes in two bags. The UPPAbaby Remi, at 20 pounds, is the lighter way to get a bassinet. On the On the Go, the bassinet is outgrown long before the playard around it.
Wooden cribs that roll instead of carry
The five wooden cribs suit a different house: one with a spare room where the crib can live. All of them fold, move on wheels or casters, and let you set the mattress at more than one height, from two positions on the Delta Children and both full-size cribs to four on the DaVinci Dylan. The weight runs from 32 pounds for the Dream On Me Mini to 46.4 for the Simmons Kids Aria, so plan on rolling it to a closet rather than hauling it up a flight of stairs.
Mattresses and assembly the price leaves out
Two of the prices need an adjustment. The Simmons Kids Aria ($229.99) and the Dream On Me Full Size 2-in-1 ($199.99) both take a standard full-size crib mattress that is sold separately. The mini cribs arrive with something to sleep on: a 1.5-inch mattress with the Delta Children, a one-inch pad with the Dream On Me Mini and the DaVinci Dylan.
The Delta, the least expensive wooden crib at $126.32, has to be assembled before its first use, while the Dream On Me Mini ships with its tools in the box. On the travel side, the BabyBjorn Travel Crib Light's listing says its mattress is included, and the Hiccapop at $129.99 comes with two washable sheets and prints its set-up steps in large type on its underside, which helps when the crib only comes out a few times a year.

The listing states the crib is for newborns up to about three years and that the mattress is included. It is priced near the top of this table for a crib that does one job well.

The lightest and smallest-packing crib here: it collapses into a carry-on-sized bag with backpack straps, which matters if the crib has to live in a closet and come out a few times a year. Newton's selling point is the Wovenaire mattress, which is designed to breathe through its core and to be washable cover and all. It sets up in seconds and has a zip door in one side, and like the other travel cribs the mattress lies on the floor, so it is easier to carry than it is to lift a baby into.
Hiccapop Portable Travel Crib

How we researched this
We built this table for a grandparent keeping a crib at their own house for visiting grandchildren, which is why weight and sleeping height get columns of their own; DaVinci and Dream On Me both name grandparents' homes on the listings cited here. Price, weight, footprint and rating come from each crib's Amazon product page as it stood on September 8 and 9, 2026, the one source that printed all four for every row, and those prices can move within a week. The Nuna SENA Aire was left out because it was out of stock with no price shown, the 4moms Breeze Plus because Amazon carried only its accessories, and the many low-cost marketplace cribs from rotating brands because their listings come and go faster than this page would be updated.
Three cells are empty where the page said nothing usable: the BabyBjorn's sleeping height, and the Hiccapop's sleeping height and weight (its listing gives only 8.85 kg, which we did not convert). Most weights are the listing's item weight, which for a boxed wooden crib may include packaging, and Newton's own listing states both 12 and 20 pounds; the table uses the 12 from its description. The newer cribs' ratings rest on few reviews, 58 for the Simmons against 11,839 for the Baby Trend, so weigh a 4.5 on a young listing accordingly.
