Nearly every wooden mini crib here fits in roughly 39 by 26 inches, so footprint alone rarely settles it. The Dream On Me Bellport 4-in-1 makes the best case on price: 39 by 25.5 inches, 35 pounds, a conversion all the way to a twin bed, and $149.99. The one crib that is genuinely smaller is the Nestig The Wave Crib, 31 by 24.5 inches in mini mode, at $849.
Where these cribs really differ is what happens next. Eight convert to a toddler bed or twin, so a small room keeps one frame for years, while the folding and travel cribs mostly stay cribs and earn their place by getting out of the way. Folding does not mean light: the folding wooden cribs run 36 to 53.5 pounds, and the only one that packs into a backpack is the 13 pound Guava Lotus.

Mini crib dimensions side by side
The wooden cribs span only 38 to 40.5 inches long and 25.25 to 28 inches wide. The shortest is the Dream On Me Jett at 38 inches, and the DaVinci Colby is the longest at 40.5 because of its trundle. Width is where a cheap crib can cost you: the Dream On Me Edgewood is the least expensive crib in the table at $129.99, but at 28 inches it is also the widest wooden one, so measure the gap beside your bed first.
Beyond the Nestig, two options sit outside that range. The Guava Lotus is 45 by 32 inches set up, bigger than any wooden mini crib, and makes sense only because it disappears into a backpack afterwards. The bloom alma mini has no size in this table because bloom does not publish its assembled footprint.
Cribs that convert and cribs you replace
The Babyletto Gelato, DaVinci Colby, Dream On Me Bellport and Edgewood are sold as 4-in-1, and the DaVinci Charlie, Jenny Lind, Otto and Nestig Wave as 3-in-1. Conversion often costs extra: the Gelato and Colby need conversion kits, and the Bellport and Edgewood need bed rails for the twin stage.
The Babyletto Origami, Dream On Me Lucas, Dream On Me Jett and Guava Lotus list no conversion, so budget for a second bed later. The bloom alma mini is the shortest-lived of all, with a stated use that ends around 12 months. The DaVinci Charlie is the exception among folding cribs, since it converts to a twin, but at 53.5 pounds folding it away is a two-person job.
Mattress or thin pad: what the price includes
Two cribs include a 4-inch mattress: the DaVinci Otto and the bloom alma mini. The Dream On Me Bellport, Edgewood and Lucas arrive with a 1-inch pad, so the Bellport's $149.99 and the Edgewood's $129.99 need a proper mini-crib mattress added before they compare with the Otto's $279. The Jett folds flat with its included mattress still inside. The Nestig takes a non-standard 27.5 by 22.5 inch mattress in mini mode, which makes sheets a special order.

At 50 lbs assembled it is heavy for something sold as portable, so the wheels matter more day to day than the fold does. It stays a crib: Babyletto lists no toddler-bed conversion, so it is a replace-later purchase rather than a grow-with-me one.
Babyletto Gelato 4-in-1 Convertible Mini Crib
The most flexible mini crib in this table: Babyletto sells it as a four-stage bed that becomes a toddler bed and then a twin, so a small room can keep the same frame for years. Interchangeable feet let you change the look without changing the crib. At 37 lbs it is one of the lighter solid-wood options here, which helps if the crib has to move when guests come. It is the priciest of the standard wooden mini cribs listed, and the conversion kits are sold separately.
DaVinci Charlie Folding Portable 3-in-1 Mini Crib
A folding mini crib doing the same job as Babyletto's Origami, from its sister brand, with optional rolling wheels and a frame that folds away between uses. Unusually for the price, it also converts to a twin bed later. The trade-off is heft: at 53.5 lbs it is among the heaviest cribs in this table, so folding it away is a two-person job rather than a nightly habit. DaVinci was selling it at $139 when this table was built, marked down from a $229 list price, so check the current number before comparing.
DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-in-1 Convertible Mini Crib
The mini version of DaVinci's long-running spindle crib, for anyone who wants a small footprint without the flat-panel modern look everything else here has. It rolls on wheels and converts twice, so it can carry a child past the crib years. At 35.1 lbs it is among the lightest wooden cribs listed, light enough for one adult to shift and vacuum behind. It is also the tallest of the standard mini cribs at 39.5 inches, worth checking if it has to sit under a window ledge.
DaVinci Otto 3-in-1 Convertible Mini Crib with 4" Mattress
DaVinci's mid-century take on the mini crib, and one of only two options here that ships with a real 4-inch mattress instead of a thin regulatory pad, which closes most of the price gap against its cheaper siblings. At 38.5 inches it has the shortest footprint of the traditional wooden mini cribs listed. It converts twice, to a toddler bed and then a twin. At 51.5 lbs it is one of the heavier frames, so pick the corner before you assemble it.
DaVinci Colby 4-in-1 Convertible Mini Crib with Trundle
The only option here that gives storage back: a full-width trundle drawer sits under the crib, which in a small room can stand in for the dresser drawer you would otherwise fill with sheets and sleep sacks. It converts through four stages, with four mattress heights along the way. The trundle costs footprint and mass, though: at 40.5 inches it is the longest wooden crib in this table and at 54 lbs the heaviest thing on the list. Conversion kits are sold separately.
Dream On Me Bellport 4-in-1 Convertible Mini/Portable Crib
The value pick: a solid pinewood 4-in-1 for well under half what most of this table costs, converting to a mini daybed and then a twin. Dream On Me Lucas Mini Modern Crib
A mid-century-styled mini crib in New Zealand pinewood, with rounded spindles and tapered legs: the one here that most reads as furniture rather than baby gear. At 33 inches tall it sits lower than the other wooden cribs listed, which helps under a window or beside a bed. At 34 lbs it is the lightest wooden crib in this table. Dream On Me lists no conversion for it, so unlike its stablemates it stays a crib and comes with the 1-inch pad rather than a mattress.
Dream On Me Jett Portable Folding Mini Crib
A folding crib built around storage: it folds flat with the included mattress still inside it, and hooded locking wheels let you roll it out only when it is needed. Dream On Me aims it at guest rooms, grandparents and daycares rather than as the primary nursery crib, and that is the honest use for it. Three mattress heights and 36 lbs. There is no bed conversion, so it is a two-year purchase at most.
Nestig The Wave Crib
The most expensive option here by a wide margin, and the only one that starts genuinely small and then grows with the room: 31 inches long in mini mode, expanding to a 54-inch full crib and later a toddler bed. That is one purchase instead of a mini crib now and a full crib in a year, which is the whole argument for the price. It is Greenguard Gold certified and turns up constantly in design coverage. Two caveats: Nestig publishes no assembled weight, and mini mode takes a non-standard 27.5 by 22.5 inch mattress, so sheets are a special order.
Guava Lotus Everywhere Travel Crib
The odd one out, and deliberately so: a soft-sided travel crib that packs into a 13 lb backpack, so it takes up no floor at all when it is not in use. Set up, though, it is the widest thing in this table at 32 inches, so it is a poor answer if it has to live in one corner permanently. A side zip door lets you get a sleeping baby in without lifting them over a rail, which is the feature owners talk about most. Read it as the option for a home with no spare corner rather than a small one.
bloom alma mini crib
A design-forward folding crib in solid wood on four lockable casters, sold as a newborn bassinet that stretches into a mini crib for roughly the first year. It includes a 4-inch US-made mattress, which takes some of the sting out of the price, and the compact fold is the point: it goes into a closet between babies rather than onto a resale site. Two things to weigh before buying. bloom does not publish the crib's assembled footprint anywhere on the product page, so the two blank size cells here are the maker's gap and not an oversight; and its own stated use ends around 12 months, which is short next to the convertible cribs in this table.
How we researched this
Roundups and retailers only pointed us to candidates; each crib's row was then filled from the page its maker publishes for it. Length and width are the assembled exterior, and for the Nestig they are its mini setup, since that is how it sits in a small room. A blank Converts To cell means the maker states no conversion. The other blanks are details the maker does not publish: bloom gives no footprint, weight or conversion for the alma mini, and Nestig gives no assembled weight.
Babyletto and DaVinci share a parent company, so two more DaVinci models (the folding Dylan and a crib-and-changer) were cut to keep the list from tilting further toward one company. Delta Children and Storkcraft were left out because their current catalogs list no mini or portable cribs, and IKEA's cribs because no dimensions for them turned up. Playards such as the Graco Pack 'n Play are not cribs, and the Lotus is the one soft-sided exception.
