Why no Utah brunch is truly bottomless
Utah caps pours by law, wine at five ounces a glass, and no licensee may sell alcohol at one fixed price for unlimited drinking. When brunch is served in West Jordan
Only two places run a separate brunch service, and both close it early. Lucky's stops at noon on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday; Black Sheep goes until 2pm both days. Turn up at 12:30 on a Saturday and Lucky's brunch menu is already done, while Black Sheep still has an hour and a half to go.
The other four serve breakfast for as long as the doors are open. Black Bear Diner runs 7am to 10pm, IHOP 6am to 10pm and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and Bout Time 10am to 1am. A TV-heavy sports bar at Jordan Landing that is open from 10am to 1am every day and keeps a full Brunch section on the menu: biscuits and gravy, a breakfast quesadilla, huevos rancheros, a deep-fried Monte Cristo and a build-your-own three-egg omelet. Cocktail and beer lists vary by location, so what is pouring is worth a call. It is 21 and over only. The pub's own page leans on its regulars, calling itself part of the fabric of the West Jordan community, and it is the busiest location in the chain, so this is brunch with a game on rather than a quiet one.
Black Bear Diner
A big family diner in the Jordan Landing retail center, open 7am to 10pm every single day, so brunch here is simply whenever you turn up. Oversized breakfast plates are the draw, and the diner's own page points at the bear carvings on the patio that kids like and the benches waiting parents appreciate. How we researched this
The table keeps to sit-down brunch inside West Jordan city limits, which is why the valley's better-known boozy brunches (Hash Kitchen in Draper, Prohibition in Murray, Moena Cafe in Daybreak) and the Chuck-A-Rama weekend buffet in South Jordan are absent. Kneaders at Jordan Landing was dropped because its all-you-can-eat French toast could not be confirmed on any readable page, The Kolache Place and Waffle Love are counters rather than sit-down rooms, the Flavors of India buffet runs weekdays only, Applebee's serves no breakfast, the Redwood Road Denny's no longer appears on Denny's own Utah locator, and Golden Corral on Redwood Road has closed.
