Gyms in San Francisco With Childcare
Two San Francisco gyms in this table run staffed drop-in childcare: the Presidio Community YMCA at 63 Funston Avenue and the Stonestown Family YMCA at 333 Eucalyptus Drive. At both, $112 a month buys a household membership with the YKids room included, for children from 3 months to 10 years.
That is a short list on purpose. MNTSTUDIO San Francisco on Union Street takes children under 7 only around a booked class, at a per-visit fee. City Sports Club on 20th Ave has a Kids Klub room, but its own page lists it as closed Monday through Sunday. Most of the other gyms that directories say offer childcare in the city do not, according to their own sites.

What the YMCA's $112 a month includes
The $112 at both YMCAs is the Single Adult Household with Children rate, the cheapest tier that unlocks YKids at all. The adult-only rate of $91 does not include the kids' room, and a two-adult household pays $182. Care is capped at two hours a day and needs a reservation, but there is no per-visit charge on top.
Compare that with the other two rows. MNTSTUDIO charges $15 per child each time, up to three children, and does not publish its membership rates online. City Sports Club bills Kids Klub as an extra monthly fee on top of dues it also does not publish.
YKids hours at the Presidio and Stonestown YMCAs
Mornings are the same at both branches: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, every day of the week. Afternoons are where they differ, and only Monday to Thursday. The Presidio room opens 4:00 to 7:00 pm; Stonestown opens earlier and stays later, 3:00 to 7:30 pm. Neither offers Friday or weekend afternoon care, so a parent who can only train then is limited to mornings. Stonestown is also a full family branch with a pool, sauna and spa, which helps when an older sibling comes along.
San Francisco gyms listed with childcare that do not offer it
Several gyms that appear in directories for this search are missing here because their own pages show no childcare in the city. The 24 Hour Fitness amenity lists for Ocean and Potrero do not include it. Both San Francisco Equinox club pages show no Kids Club. Bay Club's brand childcare schedule covers twelve clubs, none of them in San Francisco. The JCCSF pages we checked no longer mention childcare, and Bakar Fitness at UCSF Mission Bay no longer has onsite care.
PowerPlaySF describes child-friendly spaces, not staffed care, and publishes no ages or hours. The other San Francisco YMCA branches do not run YKids either; only Presidio and Stonestown do within the city.
The options in detail
Presidio Community YMCA
One of only two San Francisco branches that run the YMCA's YKids room, tucked into the Presidio on Funston Avenue. Childcare is included once you hold a household membership, so $112 a month covers one adult, their kids, and the care on top: the only childcare-inclusive rate in this table that the provider actually publishes. Children from three months to ten years are accepted, two hours a day, by reservation. The catch is the afternoon window, which runs Monday to Thursday only and closes at 7:00, so Friday and weekend afternoons are morning-care-only.
Stonestown Family YMCA
The Sunset-side counterpart to the Presidio Y, and the other San Francisco branch running YKids. The cost structure is identical: childcare is included with a household membership rather than billed per visit, with the same three-months-to-ten-years range, two-hour daily cap and required reservation. Its afternoon block is the wider of the two, 3:00 to 7:30 Monday through Thursday, which fits an after-school or after-work workout better than the Presidio's 4:00 to 7:00. It is a full family branch with a pool, sauna and spa, so older siblings have somewhere to be while you train.
MNTSTUDIO San Francisco – Marina
A reformer Pilates studio and coworking club on Union Street rather than a full gym, and its childcare is scoped to match: you book a spot for your child around the class you are taking, not for an open-ended visit. It is $15 per child, capped at three children at a time, and has to be booked in advance, so it needs the most planning of anything here. Children of seven and over are not taken in the childcare room, though they can wait in reception free of charge. MNT does not publish membership rates online, which is the one column you cannot fill here without calling the studio.
City Sports Club San Francisco
Worth listing mainly to save you a trip. This 20th Avenue club has a Kids Klub room and turns up in almost every directory of San Francisco gyms with childcare, but the club's own page currently shows Kids Klub hours as closed Monday through Sunday. When it does run, Kids Klub is an add-on charge rather than something folded into the membership, unlike the two YMCAs. The gym itself is a conventional big-box club with a lap pool plus basketball and racquetball courts, so call and confirm the childcare before you join on the strength of it.
How we researched this
We checked each gym against its operator's own site rather than a directory, and listed it only where that page describes childcare at the San Francisco location. City Sports Club stays in, despite its closed Kids Klub, because it turns up in almost every directory for this search and its own page shows the room is not running. MNTSTUDIO says childcare is coming to its Mission Rock studio, which would add an option, and we could not load Barre Union SF's site to check a mention of childcare there.
Three cells are blank because the operator does not publish the fact: MNTSTUDIO's monthly rate (only a two-week intro offer is listed), and City Sports Club's dues and Kids Klub ages. Childcare hours here are seasonal and were read in September 2026. The front desk at either YMCA can confirm the YKids schedule for the week you want to train.
