Presidio Community YMCA

One of only two San Francisco branches that run the YMCA's YKids room, tucked into the Presidio on Funston Avenue. Childcare is included once you hold a household membership, so $112 a month covers one adult, their kids, and the care on top: the only childcare-inclusive rate in this table that the provider actually publishes. Children from three months to ten years are accepted, two hours a day, by reservation. The catch is the afternoon window, which runs Monday to Thursday only and closes at 7:00, so Friday and weekend afternoons are morning-care-only.

Stonestown Family YMCA

The Sunset-side counterpart to the Presidio Y, and the other San Francisco branch running YKids. The cost structure is identical: childcare is included with a household membership rather than billed per visit, with the same three-months-to-ten-years range, two-hour daily cap and required reservation. Its afternoon block is the wider of the two, 3:00 to 7:30 Monday through Thursday, which fits an after-school or after-work workout better than the Presidio's 4:00 to 7:00. It is a full family branch with a pool, sauna and spa, so older siblings have somewhere to be while you train.

MNTSTUDIO San Francisco – Marina

A reformer Pilates studio and coworking club on Union Street rather than a full gym, and its childcare is scoped to match: you book a spot for your child around the class you are taking, not for an open-ended visit. It is $15 per child, capped at three children at a time, and has to be booked in advance, so it needs the most planning of anything here. Children of seven and over are not taken in the childcare room, though they can wait in reception free of charge. MNT does not publish membership rates online, which is the one column you cannot fill here without calling the studio.

City Sports Club San Francisco

Worth listing mainly to save you a trip. This 20th Avenue club has a Kids Klub room and turns up in almost every directory of San Francisco gyms with childcare, but the club's own page currently shows Kids Klub hours as closed Monday through Sunday. When it does run, Kids Klub is an add-on charge rather than something folded into the membership, unlike the two YMCAs. The gym itself is a conventional big-box club with a lap pool plus basketball and racquetball courts, so call and confirm the childcare before you join on the strength of it.
