Off-Leash Dog Parks Near North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas has two off-leash dog parks of its own. Craig Ranch Regional Park on West Craig Road is the full-featured one, with runs split by size, water fountains with dog bowls, and tree and canopy shade, open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Seastrand Park on Camino Eldorado Parkway is a single shared run, but it keeps the longest hours around, 5 a.m. to midnight.
The other ten are across the line in Las Vegas, mostly city parks on the northwest side plus two Clark County parks to the east. Eight of them list separate small-dog runs, so the useful differences are timing: when a park opens and closes, and which weekday its runs shut for maintenance. In a Las Vegas summer, when dogs get walked at dawn or after dark, that decides more than the amenity list does.

Early and late dog park hours
Most of the city of Las Vegas parks here keep 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Seastrand opens two hours earlier, at 5 a.m., and Craig Ranch and the county's Dog Fancier's Park open at 6. Shadow Rock, the other county park, closes earliest at 10 p.m. For night visits, Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex has park lighting that keeps its runs usable well after dark.
Woofter Family Park's hours depend on who you ask: the city lists 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., while a dog-park directory lists 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The table follows the city, but check before an evening trip.
Which weekday each run closes for maintenance
Several city parks shut their dog runs for part of a weekday. Barkin' Basin closes on Mondays and Thursdays, Woofter at midday on Tuesdays, Children's Memorial on Wednesday afternoons and Police Memorial on Wednesday late mornings, and Kellogg Zaher also closes on Wednesdays. No closure day is noted for Centennial Hills, Winding Trails or Justice Myron E. Leavitt & Jaycee, which is not the same as having none, so look at the city's page for those before a midweek trip.
Grass, shade and reservable runs
Woofter, Children's Memorial and Kellogg Zaher put grass underfoot, a real advantage in a city where many runs are gravel. Dog Fancier's Park is a different kind of place: five enclosed areas, four of them reservable for training and agility practice, with water in each area but no bowls, so bring your own. It is also the longest drive from North Las Vegas, near Horseman's Park on the east side.

Craig Ranch Regional Park
The biggest and best-known dog park in North Las Vegas, set inside a 170-acre regional park off Craig Road. The dog area is fully fenced and split by size, with agility features like ramps and tunnels, water fountains with built-in dog bowls, and unusually good tree and canopy shade for the valley. Locals treat early mornings and evenings after 6 p.m. as the busy social hours. The trade-off is crowds: the surrounding park is busy with sports fields, a skate park and events.
Seastrand Park
The other off-leash option inside North Las Vegas itself, tucked into James K. Seastrand Park on Camino Eldorado. It is a single fenced run rather than a split enclosure, so big and small dogs share the same space. It keeps the longest hours of any park here, opening at 5 a.m. and staying open until midnight, which makes it the practical choice for a walk before or after the heat of a summer day. Published detail on its amenities is thinner than for the city-of-Las-Vegas parks.
Shadow Rock Park
A Clark County dog park off Los Feliz Street on the east side of the valley, and the closest option here for anyone living on the east side of North Las Vegas. It has separate small and big dog sections, shade shelters spread through the park, and a seasonal water spigot, plus a paved walking path for the on-leash part of the trip. It closes earlier than most parks on this list, at 10 p.m.
Barkin' Basin Park
A dedicated dog park inside W. Wayne Bunker Family Park, and the one most Las Vegas dog-park roundups put at the top. It is built as three separate runs, one of them for small dogs, with agility equipment, shaded seating and water fountains for dogs and people. It is purpose-built for dogs rather than a run bolted onto a sports complex. Watch the midweek maintenance closures, which take the runs out of service for several hours on Mondays and Thursdays.
Centennial Hills Park
The dog park here sits inside a 120-acre regional park built around a historic inverted riverbed, so there is plenty to do before and after. The off-leash area is two fenced sections for small and large dogs with agility equipment, and reviewers single it out for being well maintained. Shade and fresh water are both available. It is the easiest of the northwest parks to reach from the Aliante side of North Las Vegas.
Children's Memorial Park
A large west-side community park whose off-leash area is split into separate large and small dog enclosures, both with grass underfoot and shaded benches for owners. The rest of the park is unusually well equipped, with a roller hockey rink, ball fields and paved walking paths for the on-leash part of a visit. Check the schedule before driving over: the dog runs close Wednesday afternoons for maintenance.
Police Memorial Park
A quieter northwest park with three dog runs, including separate space for large and small dogs, plus fresh water on site. The rest of the park is built around a memorial walking path that passes groves of trees, a memorial wall and a sculpture, and dogs are welcome on it on-leash. There is a picnic area if you want to make a longer trip of it. The dog park closes Wednesday late mornings for maintenance.
Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex
The off-leash area inside a 96-acre sports park, with three dog runs divided by size, four dog fountains and grass underfoot. Reviewers describe a loyal regular crowd, which tends to keep the space cleaner than average. Park lighting means it stays usable well after dark, which matters in a Las Vegas summer. It is a busy complex overall, with eleven lighted soccer fields and a 2.44-mile track around the park.
Woofter Family Park
A recently renovated 7.55-acre neighborhood park in Twin Lakes whose dog area is split into runs for small and large dogs, with double-gated entries, lush grass, benches and dog fountains. It is not the largest off-leash space here, but it is one of the best kept, and a grass surface is a real advantage in a city where many runs are gravel. There is agility equipment too. The runs close Tuesday midday for maintenance.
Winding Trails Park
A smaller northwest neighborhood park whose dog area is separated into a small dog run and a large dog run. Beyond the dog park there are two playgrounds for different age groups, a splash pad and walking trails, so it works well if you are bringing children along. It is the farthest northwest option here, and published detail about its shade and water is thin.
Justice Myron E. Leavitt & Jaycee Community Park
The closest option to central Las Vegas, an 18-acre community park east of the Strip with dog runs, shade structures and agility obstacles. It is a straight run south from North Las Vegas, which makes it a reasonable stop rather than a destination. The park is heavily used for sports, with a lighted artificial turf soccer field plus bocce and pickleball courts.
Dog Fancier's Park
A Clark County park built for dog people rather than for general park use, with five enclosed areas, four of which can be reserved for training and agility practice. Each area has a water source, though you are expected to bring your own bowl. It sits next to Horseman's Park on the east side, so it is the longest drive here from North Las Vegas, and it earns the trip mainly if you want reservable training space rather than a casual romp.
How we researched this
Twenty minutes by car from North Las Vegas set the boundary for public off-leash parks, which leaves out Henderson's parks, more than 30 minutes away, and the south valley's (Sunset, Silverado Ranch, Southern Highlands and others). Barx Parx and The Hydrant Club are off-leash but run as paid memberships, not public parks. Huckleberry Park on Farm Road, the farthest northwest, was dropped because two of its seven columns could not be documented, and Aliante Nature Discovery Park is a leashed park despite showing up in dog-friendly roundups.
Shade, Water for Dogs and Separate Small-Dog Area only ever say Yes, because no source states that a feature is missing. An empty cell there is silence, not a no, so filtering on Yes can hide parks that qualify. Seastrand has the most gaps, since the City of North Las Vegas facility page could not be read; that page is the place to confirm its shade and water before a July visit.
