For small plates and a slow drink instead, The Mariner serves tapas and cocktails on a rooftop over the downtown marina, Wednesday through Saturday.

Padre Island sunsets or the downtown bayfront

Doc's is a big two-level room under the JFK Bridge, with steaks beside the seafood and 4.0 across more than 1,400 reviews. Perrin's is a Cajun and Creole deck that takes reservations, though it is too new for a Tripadvisor rating.
Downtown, the setting is the marina and the bay rather than the Laguna Madre. Harrison's Landing floats on the Peoples Street T-Head, so its Back Dock puts you among the sailboats, and The Mariner is upstairs in the same building. Gallery 41 and Landry's both face the bay from Shoreline Boulevard, and The Yardarm sits on its own out on Ocean Drive.
Quiet tables versus live music
If conversation matters, look first at The Yardarm and The Mariner. Doc's has live music every night. Pier 99 on North Beach is the loudest room here, a huge deck with blues and cover bands and a view across to the USS Lexington, but it is also the lowest-rated at 3.5, with complaints mostly about the food. Blackbeard's, also on North Beach, plays music nightly in spring and summer and Wednesday to Saturday the rest of the year, in a pirate-themed room that is more fun than romantic.
Which patios are open on a Monday
Four places close on Mondays: Harrison's, Gallery 41 and The Yardarm, plus The Mariner, which opens only Wednesday to Saturday. Gallery 41 also serves only brunch on Sundays, so its dinner nights run Tuesday to Saturday. Six places open every day, and of those Landry's and Perrin's take reservations. The Executive Surf Club's days are left blank because Tripadvisor lists it closed on Mondays while its own events page runs a Monday trivia night, so call first.

Perrin's on the Water
Four generations of a Louisiana restaurant family run this Padre Island spot, and the menu stays close to New Orleans: boudin balls, cast-iron cornbread, blackened chicken and tasso. The reason to pick it for a date is the outdoor deck, where the sunset and the breeze off the water come with dinner. It takes reservations, which is less common than you would expect among the island's waterfront places. It is the newest room on this list and has no established Tripadvisor rating yet, so there is less third-party evidence to lean on than for its neighbours.
Harrison's Landing
Harrison's floats. The restaurant sits out on the Peoples Street T-Head in the middle of the marina, so its Back Dock puts you among the sailboats with the downtown skyline behind you. The Mariner
Upstairs from Harrison's Landing, reached by a staircase most people walk straight past, The Mariner is the grown-up half of the same building: tapas, carefully made cocktails and nautical decor on a rooftop patio over the marina. Visit Corpus Christi singles it out as an easy pick for date night, and it is the one place here built around small plates and a slow drink rather than a platter. It only opens Wednesday through Saturday, so plan around that. It has no Tripadvisor rating of its own; the 3.9 on this list belongs to Harrison's downstairs.
Gallery 41 Water's Edge Grill
Gallery 41 sits inside the Art Center of Corpus Christi on Shoreline Boulevard, so you can walk through the rotating exhibitions before dinner and then eat on a wide patio pointed straight at Corpus Christi Bay. The kitchen does a locally sourced American grill menu with a craft cocktail list beside it. It is the newest room on this list and carries only about a dozen Tripadvisor reviews, so treat its 3.8 as thin evidence rather than a verdict. Landry's Seafood House

The Yardarm Restaurant
A small yellow Cape Cod cottage on Ocean Drive that has been cooking seafood for more than four decades, with a deck beside the dining room looking over Corpus Christi Bay. The cooking leans French, sauced and sauteed rather than fried, and the specials change with what the local boats bring in. It is the dressiest and priciest option here, the only one Tripadvisor bands at $$$$, and the most clearly built for a slow dinner for two. Dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday, and it takes reservations, which you will want.
Pier 99 Restaurant
Pier 99 has been on North Beach since 1991, built piece by piece by founder Mike Astin and run since by his family. It is the loudest and most casual room here: a huge waterfront deck, live blues and cover bands, a full bar, and a view across the water to the USS Lexington. There is even a canine menu, so the dog can come. It is also the lowest-rated on this list at 3.5 across more than a thousand Tripadvisor reviews, with complaints clustering on the food rather than the setting, so come for the deck and the music and keep expectations modest.
Blackbeard's on the Beach
A bright purple building just across the harbour bridge on North Beach, in one of the oldest structures still standing there, serving seafood, steaks and comfort food since 1991. There is live music every night in spring and summer and Wednesday to Saturday the rest of the year. It is a fun, faintly kitschy pirate-themed room rather than a romantic one, and it is a short walk from North Beach itself. Tripadvisor rates it 4.0 across nearly 1,100 reviews; its outdoor seating is listed there rather than described on the restaurant's own site, which has not been updated in years.
Executive Surf Club
The Surf Club has been downtown since 1990 and is a live music venue first and a restaurant second: bar food, cheap drafts and an outdoor stage that has hosted everyone from The Ventures to Townes Van Zandt. It is the only option here without a water view and by far the cheapest, the single $ entry among these on Tripadvisor, where it rates 4.1. Pick it for a date that wants a band and a patio table rather than a sunset. Its listed opening days disagree between sources, so check before you go.
How we researched this
A restaurant needed outdoor seating we could substantiate, not just a dining room with a view, to appear here. Republic of Texas Bar & Grill, on the 20th floor of the Omni Bayfront, and Elizabeth's at the Art Museum are strong date restaurants, but nothing we read describes outdoor seating at either. AMBRA turns up in the city's date-night material but is in McAllen, about 150 miles away. Eighteen 18 Eat & Drink and Fajitaville both have patios; their sites refused every request, which left no address or photo we could stand behind. Bellino's only patio evidence was the phrase Outdoor Seating in a feature list, too little to describe it to you.
Addresses, hours and cuisine mostly come from the restaurants' own sites, and several patio descriptions come from Visit Corpus Christi, the city's tourism bureau, which writes kindly about its own restaurants. Ratings are Tripadvisor's, and most write-ups carry the review count to read them against: Gallery 41's 3.8 rests on about a dozen reviews, Landry's on about 790. Perrin's and The Mariner have no rating of their own. Price sits in the write-ups rather than a column, since Tripadvisor bands nine of the eleven alike. Opening days are as listed in September 2026, so confirm before booking a table.
