Easter Egg Hunts in Tallahassee
Tallahassee's biggest egg hunt is the City of Tallahassee Easter Egg Hunt at Myers Park: free, aimed at kids 10 and under, and in 2026 its 67th edition drew more than 3,000 people for over 30,000 eggs, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the Saturday before Easter. Almost everything else is free too. Eighteen of the twenty hunts here cost nothing, and fourteen are run by churches.
With price off the table, the useful question is when. Fifteen of the hunts fell on that same Saturday, April 4, 2026, and their start times run from 9 a.m. downtown to 5:15 p.m. in Killearn, so a family can fit two or three into one day. The other five are spread out for anyone who wants to avoid the rush: one three weeks early, two a week early, one on the Thursday, and one on Easter Sunday itself.

Stacking hunts on the Saturday before Easter
The morning is crowded. Trinity UMC opens downtown at 9 a.m. with a potluck brunch and needs registration. Messer Park runs 9 to 11. Then comes a cluster at 10: Freedom Church, Immanuel Baptist (an egg drop at 10:30 for preschool and kindergarten, 11 for first through fifth grade), Saint Paul's UMC, Experience Church in Tom Brown Park, Generations Church on the west side until 12:30, and Pisgah Methodist, which starts at 10 sharp. Skate World follows at 11.
Afternoons are thinner. Myers Park runs 1 to 3, with the hunt itself late in the window, so families with very small children often arrive near the end. UCT runs 3 to 4 with an indoor rain plan, Bradfordville First Baptist 4 to 6 with food trucks and a dessert competition, and Celebration Baptist closes the day with an hour-long KidFest and petting zoo from 5:15. A morning at Messer Park and an afternoon at Myers Park is a pairing many families already make.
Hunts away from the Easter Saturday rush
Capital Craft Fest at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum came first, on March 14, 2026: a craft market with egg hunts at 1 and 2 p.m. Thomasville Road Baptist and Seminole Baptist both held theirs on Sunday, March 29, 4 to 6 p.m., one with a petting zoo and bounce houses, the other with a cookout of burgers and hot dogs. Redemptive Love Farm opened on Thursday, April 2, the only multi-day event and the only one built around animals, at $15 a person at the gate. St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral holds its hunt on Easter Sunday at 10:30, between services.
Where arriving late costs you eggs
The Tallahassee Farmers Market sets its eggs out at 10 a.m. with no end time; the hunt lasts until they are found. Pisgah and St. Peter's both stress a prompt start. If your Saturday morning runs late, Generations Church's two and a half hours give the most slack.

City of Tallahassee Easter Egg Hunt at Myers Park
The city's flagship hunt and by far the biggest one in town: organizers counted more than 3,000 people and over 30,000 eggs at the 2026 edition, which was the 67th time the city has run it. Eggs-traordinary Easter Egg Hunt at Messer Park
This is the city's inclusive hunt, and it is the most carefully designed event on the list. Instead of one scramble it runs four separate morning sessions: an open one for all abilities and siblings, one for children with visual impairments who find eggs by sound, one on the rubberized field where magnetic eggs can be picked up from a mobility device, and a quiet hunt for sensory-sensitive kids. It runs the same Saturday morning as the big Myers Park afternoon hunt, so families often do both. Free, and the Easter Bunny turns up here too.
Thomasville Road Baptist Easter Eggstravaganza
One of the largest church-run Easter events in town, and one of the earliest: it lands on the Sunday a week before Easter rather than Easter weekend itself. The hunts are split by age from babies up through fifth grade, and the surrounding fair is the real draw, with a petting zoo, bounce houses and craft stations. Coffee and drinks from local vendors are sold on site, so the food is not all free even though the event is. Good pick if you want a big midtown event without the crowds of the city hunt.
Giant Easter Egg Hunt and Cookout at Seminole Baptist Church
A hunt-plus-cookout on the northwest side, held the Sunday before Easter weekend. The church puts out more than 2,000 eggs across three age-graded hunts spread over its campus, so younger kids are not competing with ten-year-olds. Burgers and hot dogs are grilled afterwards and the whole thing is free, which makes it one of the better-value options if you want the kids fed as well as entertained.
Easter Egg Hunt at Bradfordville First Baptist Church
A late-afternoon hunt on the church's main campus grounds at the far north end of Thomasville Road, timed for the Saturday before Easter. Alongside the hunts there are food trucks, live music and a dessert competition that the congregation enters, which gives it more of a block-party shape than a quick hunt-and-go. Free, and the outdoor setting means it is weather-dependent.
Experience Church Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt
One of the few church hunts that is not on church property: Experience Church takes over part of Tom Brown Park on the east side for a Saturday morning of hunting, bounce houses, games and snow cones. Holding it in a public park makes it easy to combine with the playgrounds and trails already there, and it is free. Because it is a park event rather than a campus one, check the church's channels close to the date in case rain moves it.
Freedom Church Easter Egg Hunt
A midtown hunt run by Freedom Church's children's ministry, pitched squarely at younger children rather than a whole-family fair. The church's own write-up of the event describes candy, games and prizes with lunch provided, so it doubles as a midday meal. It is free and centrally located, which makes it one of the easier ones to reach without a long drive north or east.
UCT Community Easter Egg Hunt
A short, contained community hunt at United Church in Tallahassee for babies through fifth grade. It is the only one on this list that publishes a rain plan: if the weather turns, the hunt moves indoors and children go in to search in small groups. That, plus the one-hour window late in the afternoon, makes it a low-commitment option for families who do not want to spend a whole morning at an event. Bring your own basket.
Capital Craft Fest and Easter Egg Hunt
The earliest Easter event of the local season by a wide margin, held at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum three weeks before Easter itself. It is really a craft market with two egg hunts bolted on, at 1pm and 2pm, plus food trucks and a DJ. Entry and parking are free, though the vendor stalls and food are not. Worth knowing about mainly because it is the one chance to do an egg hunt before the calendar gets crowded, and because it gives you something to do if rain wipes out Easter weekend.
Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Tallahassee Farmers Market
A hunt folded into the regular Saturday market on Kerry Forest Parkway, now in its third year. There is no fixed end time: the eggs go out at 10am and the hunt runs until they are all found, so arriving late is a real risk. The appeal is that parents can shop the produce and artisan stalls while the kids hunt, which makes it the most errand-friendly option here. Free.
Celebration Baptist Church Easter KidFest
The shortest event on this list at one hour, and the latest in the day, which makes it the natural last stop on a Saturday of hunting rather than a destination on its own. Celebration Baptist runs it as a KidFest with a petting zoo and games alongside the hunt. Free, and the early-evening slot in Killearn suits families who spent the morning elsewhere.
Easter Egg Drop at Immanuel Baptist Church
Not a hunt in the usual sense: Immanuel Baptist runs an egg drop, with two scheduled drop times, 10:30am for preschool and kindergarten and 11am for first through fifth grade, plus separate activities for toddlers. Food, games and candy are all free. The split times mean small children get their own turn rather than being swamped, and the Mahan Drive location is easy to pair with the other mid-morning events nearby.
Easter Egg Scramble at Skate World
The indoor, ticketed alternative, and the obvious fallback if Easter weekend is a washout. A ten dollar online ticket covers skating, skate rental and playground access alongside the egg scramble, and the rink accepts Kids Skate Free club passes. It suits older children who can skate more than toddlers, and unlike the free outdoor hunts it does not depend on weather.
Easter Jubilee at Saint Paul's UMC
A long-running morning fair on the Saint Paul's campus that leans harder into the non-hunt activities than most: face painting, crafts, a cake walk, baby animals and a ladybug release alongside the egg hunts. Everything happens outdoors on the church grounds, it is free, and the two-hour window on Meridian Road is close enough to town that it is easy to fit around other plans.
Generations Church Egg Hunt
A west-side option, which matters because most of the Easter events in Tallahassee cluster on the north and east sides of town. Generations Church runs it as a free morning with egg hunts, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, bounce houses and train rides, and describes it as one of its bigger community events of the year. The two-and-a-half hour window is among the longest here, so there is less pressure to arrive exactly on time.
Easter Egg Hunt at Miccosukee United Methodist Church
The most rural of the Tallahassee options, out on Veterans Memorial Drive northeast of town. The church keeps it simple: an annual hunt open to all children, bring your own basket, no fair attached. If the larger events feel overwhelming for a small child, a small country-church hunt is a genuinely different experience, and it is free. Confirm the time with the church before driving out, since the listing gives a start time only.
Easter Egg Hunt at Pisgah Methodist Church
A historic country church northeast of town that opens its annual hunt to the whole community. The organisers are unusually specific that the hunt starts at 10am sharp on the church grounds, so this is not one to stroll into late. Around it there is Kona Ice, balloon animals, a bounce house and a photo booth. Free, and the grounds are pleasant enough that it works as a morning out rather than a quick stop.
Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt at Trinity UMC
The only downtown option, and the earliest start of the Saturday events at 9am. It pairs a potluck brunch indoors with a hunt on the church playground, and the church supplies the eggs. Registration is required and families are asked to bring a brunch item to share, so it is less drop-in than the others. Free, and the one-hour slot leaves the rest of the day open for the bigger hunts.
St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral Easter Egg Hunt
One of only two events here that happen on Easter Sunday itself rather than the weekend before. The hunt runs between the cathedral's morning services and starts promptly at 10:30, so it is built for families already attending church that morning rather than as a standalone outing. Free, on north Thomasville Road, and short.
Easter at the Farm at Redemptive Love Farm
The only multi-day Easter event in Tallahassee and the only one built around animals: camels, cows and llamas among roughly seventy-five of them, plus a petting pen open all day and multiple egg hunts at set times. Admission is fifteen dollars a person at the gate, with cheaper tickets and family passes if you buy online, and animal feed costs extra. It is the priciest option here, but it is also a whole day out rather than a one-hour hunt.
How we researched this
The dates in the table are the 2026 editions. These hunts repeat each spring, but Easter moves, from April 5, 2026 to March 28, 2027, so every date shifts with it; check with the host before you go. The list keeps to Tallahassee and Leon County, which leaves out the Thomasville and Bainbridge, Georgia hunts, the Quincy churches, the North Florida Wildlife Center in Lamont and the Golden Egg Hunt in Carrabelle, all 30 to 50 minutes away. Northwoods Church's Easter Jam says in its own listing that it is not an egg hunt, and the Easter brunches (Casa Grande, Hotel Duval, Southwood Golf Club, Bricks and Brass) are brunches first.
Many of these churches post their hunts only on Facebook, so most rows cite the Fun 4 Tally Kids event calendar, with the City's own press release for the two park hunts. Hosts describe ages too differently to make a fair column (10 and under, babies through fifth grade, all abilities), so what age guidance exists lives in the write-ups. UCT, Miccosukee UMC and St. Peter's advertise the hunt and nothing else, which is why their What Else Is There cells are empty.
