Tree House Brewing Company in Tewksbury is the easiest brewery near Lowell to bring children to: all ages are welcome as long as kids stay with your party, there is a pizza kitchen, and it is open every day. Hopothecary Ales in North Reading is the other every-day option, with a full kitchen and a children's menu, although it publishes no rule about kids in the taproom.
The other four welcome families on tighter terms. Navigation, Epigram and Oak & Iron each ask that children stay seated with a parent, and Dirigible is family friendly only until 6pm. Each taproom's rule on kids
Three breweries put the same rule in writing. Navigation asks that children be seated with a parent with no running around, Epigram asks that they stay at the table for the meal and says its space is aimed mainly at adults 21 and over, and Oak & Iron's FAQ says plainly that the brewery is not a playground. That makes all three better for a short sit-down stop than for a long afternoon with a restless toddler.
Dirigible draws its line by the clock: the Littleton room is family friendly until 6pm and becomes more of a tavern after that, which matters on its band, trivia and comedy nights. How we researched this
The test for a row was the brewery's own word that children are welcome, either a posted rule or a children's menu. No brewery inside Lowell made it: Merrimack Ales on Bolt Street says nothing about children, and Brew Theory runs a contract-brewing facility rather than a public taproom. Modest Roots in Tyngsborough came closest, but its only kid language belongs to workshop hosts who rent the room. True West and Rapscallion in Acton publish no kid policy or children's menu, the Nashua breweries sit over the New Hampshire line, and Sea Dog's announced Lowell brewpub had not opened as of September 2026.
Navigation's address may surprise locals: many directories still show its old Western Ave Studios taproom in Lowell, but its own site gives only the Chelmsford storefront. Outdoor seating is left empty for Tree House and Navigation because neither site mentions any, and Hopothecary's kids policy is empty because it posts none. There are no pint prices because only one of the six publishes them. Navigation and Dirigible depend on whichever food truck is scheduled, so a quick call to the taproom tells you whether dinner will be parked outside before you load the car.
