Play areas come and go branch by branch, so every location was checked on its own. A McDonald's made the table only when a store directory lists an indoor PlayPlace and a fast-food playground registry marks it as still standing, and the two sources agreed on every branch in the area. The one Chick-fil-A inside South Gate, at Firestone and Garfield, lists no playground and is not here. The Burger King rests on the registry alone, which also records the removal of the two Burger King playgrounds that used to be in South Gate. Peter Piper Pizza in Huntington Park and the Chuck E. Cheese listings in Bell Gardens and Pico Rivera were dropped because the chains' own locators no longer show them, Shakey's was dropped because its location pages mention no arcade, and play centers, including Kids Empire and Hapik in South Gate and Candeeland in Downey (which has a snack bar), were left out as not restaurants.
